NZ teaching reflection

My husband and I stepped on to New Zealand soil just over 6 weeks ago and we have quickly found ourselves enjoying being back in the classroom.

The last week and a half I have been fortunate to be surrounded by a class of delightful, enthusiastic and energetic Year 4 and 5 students.  We discussed and wrote about the Rugby World Cup, fairytales and..... of course what they got up to during the two days the school was closed due to SNOW!

Listening to the students share their current events, I thought about how lucky we are in New Zealand that our kids have the opportunity to be a part so many rich experiences.  Be it our cultural diversity in the classroom and neighbourhoods, getting out in the fresh clean air and riding horses or sliding down a hill on a boogie board (after either heavy snow or heavy rain).

We travelled to many places in between school terms while working in China - England, Vietnam, Thailand, Vanuatu, France, Italy and the Phillipines, but there really is no place like New Zealand!
